Start with the sample and batch
Find the sample or material name, batch identifier, report reference and issuing laboratory. Compare those details with the material you intend to order. Where a supplier reference differs from a retailer's label, ask for a clear explanation of how the records connect.
Read what was actually reported
Review the tests named in the report, the results, units, dates and any stated limitations. Do not assume that a test was performed because it appears on a general website checklist. A document is useful when its scope and connection to the offered material are clear.

What documentation does not promise
An analytical report is not a clinical-use authorization or a guarantee of a study's outcome. Do not turn a limited test result into a broader claim about a product. Your laboratory must decide whether the available information is sufficient for its intended research.

Ask the supplier to explain the relationship and provide traceability before relying on the report.
02What if there is no report for the current lot?
Request clarification and evaluate the gap against your laboratory's requirements. Do not substitute a different lot's report without explanation.
